カスタムカー大国であるアメリカは、自由な発想でクルマをカスタマイズすることで知られる。

スポーツカーにおいても最近ではシャコタンという概念にとらわれず、肉厚のブロックタイヤを履かせてリフトアップするというユニークなスタイルがトレンドだという。

そこにいち早く目を付けたのが老舗タイヤメーカーのヨコハマ。

国産2ドアクーペの中でも美しいスタイリングと走りの素性の良さが決め手となり、Z34フェアレディZをチョイス。

自社ブランドのジオランダーM/Tとアメリカのキング製サスペンションキットによるリフトアップで、たくましいフォルムに生まれ変わった。

ただタイヤ外径は純正よりかなり大きくなったので、アーチを大幅に広げたワンオフのワイドフェンダーで包み込んだ。ワゴンじゃないけどこのテクニック、参考になるはずだ！

FRPパーツの開発を得意とするBMクラフトが製作した、このZ専用ワイドフェンダー。前後それぞれ後方にダクトを刻んでワイド感を強調。

超極太のM/Tタイヤ！

ジオランダーM/Tはフロントが255/75-17、リアは33×12.5-17と本格派オフロード車向けサイズ。ホイールも同じくヨコハマで、ラリー仕様に人気のアドバンレーシングRCⅢ。
