E52エルグランド、どう変わった!?

10月12日から発売が始まった新型エルグランド。その改良は、改良箇所こそ多めだが、規模やインパクトはマイナーチェンジであるがゆえ残念ながらそれほど大きくはない。「内外装のデザイン変更」「安全性能強化」、そして「グレード体系の見直し」と、見所は大きく3つに搾られる。

まずデザイン。グリルがセレナ風の細かい網目系となり、従来の横バーから一新。高級感がアップしたが、バンパー自体は継承されている。表面処理がグレードで異なり、アーバンクロムはブラッククロームで、それ以外はサテンクロームでと差別化が図られている。デザイン変更は内装でも行われ、インパネに対する木目の割合が変わり、モニターが10インチへ拡大。中央がピアノブラックとなるなど、渋さが増した。

シート表皮を変更し鮮度を高めたものの、E52の問題点として指摘される、足元が狭く前倒し方式となる3列目や、ピラー引き出し式の2列目シートベルトはさすがに改善できずと、マイチェンの限界を感じさせる部分もある。

安全装備面では2台前を走る車両を検知し、危険と判断した場合に注意を促す機能や後側方衝突防止支援、後側方車両検知警報などを標準とし、クルコンの設定速度を120㎞まで上げている。

グレードは、選択数が半分以下の12と大幅に削減。これまであった標準系「XG」が廃止され、ついに全車ハイウェイスターとなった。

機能面ではサスは当然、エンジン系にも変更はない。eパワーやプロパイロットも非搭載と、昨今の日産車を司る話題機能が複数見送られた点は、致し方なしといえ非常に残念だ。

2列目はキャプテンとベンチシートの2通り。キャプテンシートには、従来通り中折れ機能が付く。表皮は変わったが、機能性は従来型のままだ。

似ているようで違う、コクピットまわり。パネルアレンジが変わったほか、モニターが10インチへ。中央にピアノブラックの加飾パネルがおごられる。

先進安全装備も強化され、前方衝突予測警報、側方衝突防止支
援システム、後側方車両検知警報、後退時車両検知警報などが次々と標準化された。全グレードがサポカーS＜ワイド＞該当車に。

ボディカラーも見直され、新色となる「ホワイトパール」、「ブラックパール」や2トーンを含む全5色を設定。E52にも、ついにハイインパクトな赤系（レッドパールメタリック）ボディが加わった!
