依然、厳しいロックダウンが続くドイツ。2021年3月1日は、丸2ヶ月営業を禁止されていた床屋や美容院がついに再開し、髪が伸び放題になってしまっていた現地の人々が大勢つめかけました。とはいえ、ロックダウンは予定よりさらに延長される可能性もあり、以前のような暮らしに戻る見通しはまったく立っていません（2021年3月1日、原稿執筆当時の情報）。

そうした中、2021年1月にKBA（ドイツ連邦自動車庁）が発表したある統計がドイツ国内で大きな話題となりました。そこには近年目にしたことのない、EV（電気自動車）とPHEV（プラグインハイブリッド車）の大躍進が示されていたからです。

今回のドイツ現地レポはこの統計をもとに、現在のドイツ国内におけるEV・PHEVの販売の躍進と、それを支えた政府による購入補助金について紹介していきます。
