2年に一度、クルマ好き・新しいモノ好きを焚きつける『東京モーターショー』。

2019年は46回目の開催となり、10月24日(木)～11月4日(月)までの12日間(！)にわたってお台場エリアを盛り上げます。“OPEN FUTURE”というテーマを引っさげて、未来のモビリティが数多くお披露目された今回の東京モーターショー。

筆者はプレスデーである23日(水)に会場へ潜入してまいりましたので、その様子をお伝えします。…とその前に、今回プレスデー初体験でしたので、リポートというよりも珍道中気味になっていることを、あらかじめご了承くださいませ(笑)。

コンセプト・ニューモデルが揃うメーカーブース

まずは正攻法で展示車両の紹介から。

相次ぐ海外ブランドの不参加が報じられたのはみなさまご存じの通り。そんななかでも、ここ東京の地で我々を出迎えてくれたメーカーさんたちのブースには、ほどよく未来を感じさせてくれる『モーターショらしさ』が健在です。

メルセデス・ベンツ＆スマート

輸入車の中でもっとも広いブースを構えていたメルセデス・ベンツ。アジアプレミアとなったEV車であるVISION EQSとスマートブランドのEQ fortwo、ミニバン人気の日本市場で大きく支持が得られそうな新型V-classあたりが注目車両といったところでしょうか。

▲巨大モニターでメルセデスの“いま”と走りの上質さをアピール

▲水素を使った燃料電池PHVであるGLC F-CELL。こちらはすでに価格(1050万円)と納期も発表済みで、来年半ばくらいから街中で見ることができそうです

▲こちらも予約が開始されたディーゼルPHVのE 350de

▲EQブランドとして初の市販車となったEQC

▲小ささが嬉しいスマートからも、EQ fortwoがアジア初公開

▲ファミリー層には頼もしいV 220 d AVANTGARDE long

▲上からCLA 200 d、GLC 300、S560ロングショーファーリミテッド
