「第46回技能五輪国際大会(特別開催)(46th WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition)」は、日本を含む15の国・地域で、9月7日(水)から11月26日(土)まで開催され、56の国・地域から989人の選手が参加し、61職種の競技が行われました。日本選手は、51職種の競技に59人が参加しました。

＊技能五輪国際大会幅広い職種の⻘年技能者(原則22歳以下(一部の職種は25歳以下))を対象とした唯一の世界レベルの技能競技大会で、職業訓練の振興と技能水準の向上、技能者の国際交流、親善を図ることを目的に、2年に一度開催されています。今年10月に中国・上海で開催を予定していた「第46回技能五輪国際大会(上海大会)」は、新型コロナウイルス感染症拡大の影響により中止となりました。その代替として「第 46回技能五輪国際大会(特別開催)」が、9月から11月にかけて、競技職種ごとに日本を含む15か国で開催されました。
