ティアンドエスグループは、子会社のティアンドエス先進技術事業本部がJAXA宇宙探査イノベーションハブ第12回研究提案募集に採択されたと発表しました。これは、「Moon to Mars Innovation」研究制度の一環で、月面や火星探査を目指すプロジェクトです。会社は、エッジAI技術を活用した高精度で低消費電力の自己位置推定技術を提案し、採択されました。今後、JAXAと2年間の共同研究を計画し、エッジAI技術をさらに強化しつつ、宇宙適用を視野に入れた研究開発に取り組む予定です。

*14:11JST ティアンドエスグループ---JAXA宇宙探査イノベーションハブ第12回研究提案募集(RFP)に採択内定ティアンドエスグループ<4055>は18日、子会社のティアンドエス先進技術事業本部が、国立研究開発法人宇宙航空研究開発機構(JAXA)宇宙探査イノベーションハブにおける、第12回研究提案募集(以下、RFP12)に応募し、その採択が内定したと発表。
JAXA宇宙探査イノベーションハブでは、2024年度より国際宇宙探査シナリオに基づく月面/火星探査を段階的に実現するためのシステム/要素技術に関して、研究課題を設定して共同研究を実施するという新しい研究制度「Moon to Mars Innovation」が実施されている。
RFP12では、システム型課題として2テーマ、ゲームチェンジ型課題として4テーマが設定されたが、同社ではゲームチェンジ型課題の「【次世代モビリティ領域】月面/火星探査ローバーや深宇宙探査機での高精度・低消費電力・リアルタイムな自己位置推定技術」を選択し、応募した。
研究提案では、同社がこれまでに培ってきたエッジAI分野での画像認識技術とプログラム実装/最適化技術を組み合わせた共同研究案を作成し、設定課題に対する提案を行っている。
今回の採択内定を受け、当該研究提案についてJAXAと共同で2年間の実施計画を作成し、契約を締結した後に共同研究を開始する予定である。
同社は、今回の共同研究を通じてエッジAI技術力のさらなる向上だけでなく、将来的に宇宙適用を見据えた研究開発に対しても積極的に取り組んでいく予定である。
