*15:11JST 三洋化成工業---リサイクルPET樹脂を含有したトナーバインダーの開発に成功、環境負荷低減に貢献する三洋化成工業<4471>は4日、使用済のPET(ポリエチレンテレフタレート)樹脂を利用した環境対応型トナーバインダーを開発したことを発表。

近年の環境意識の高まりを受け、トナーにはさらなる環境対応が求められている。このような背景を受け、同社は高いトナー性能を維持させながら環境負荷低減に貢献するトナーバインダーとして、リサイクルPET樹脂を50%以上含有するトナーバインダーを開発した。リサイクルPET樹脂は分子が規則正しく整列した状態(結晶性)で、分子量が数十万～数百万以上の超高分子量体。リサイクルPET樹脂をトナーバインダーに組み込むには、適した特性に変換する必要があり、同社は長年培ってきたトナーバインダーの知見を生かして、高いトナー性能を維持したままリサイクルPET樹脂を50%以上含有させることに成功した。本開発品により石油由来原料の使用量の削減に貢献することができる。

同社は今後も、リサイクルプラスチックやバイオマス原料をトナーバインダーの原料に転換するなど、環境対応に向けた技術開発を進め、さらなる環境負荷低減に貢献していく。
