ポンドは、英国労働党が初の秋季財政報告で400億ポンドの増税とキャピタルゲイン税の引き上げを発表したことで、売り圧力を受けました。この発表を受け、ポンドは対ドルで一時1.2937ドルと24日以来の安値をつけましたが、その後ドル売りの流れを受けて1.3043ドルまで上昇。しかし、再び1.30ドルを割り込む展開となりました。ポンド円では、198円03銭まで下落後、199円80銭まで反発しましたが、再度199円20銭まで下落しています。ユーロ対ポンドは一時0.8320ポンドに反落し、その後0.8354ポンドへと回復しました。

ポンド・ドルは発表直後、ポンド売りが加速し1.2937ドルまで下落し、24日来の安値を更新。その後、ドル売りの流れが強まり1.3043ドルへ上昇も、戻りも鈍く再び1.30ドルを割りこんだ。ポンド・円は欧州市場で198円03銭まで下落後、199円80銭まで反発、199円20銭まで再び下落した。ユーロ・ポンドは0.8320ポンドへ反落したのち、0.8354ポンドへ再び上昇した。
