世界中の人々の夢を宇宙で実現させる民間宇宙サービスプラットフォームを提供する宇宙ベンチャー企業株式会社ASTRAX（アストラックス、以下 ASTRAX、本社：神奈川県鎌倉市、代表：代表取締役・民間宇宙飛行士 TAICHI（山崎大地））は、2023年7月29日、2022年5月より開発に着手していた宇宙で「宇宙ビール」を飲むためのジョッキとグラスの試作を行いました。

【宇宙ビールに関するこれまでの経緯】
2021年夏に、ASTRAXと株式会社安井商店（本社：茨城県猿島郡境町、代表：安井正博）が運営するさかい河岸ブルワリーと共同で、『宇宙で飲める「宇宙ビール（R）」』（宇宙ワーママ（R）プロデュース）の開発を開始しました。

そして、2022年6月30日に親会社の国際宇宙サービスが「宇宙ビール」の商標を取得（2006年に初申請してから16年かかりようやく取得）したことにより、ASTRAXも「宇宙ビール」の商標が使用可能になりました。

そして今回は、無重力状態で、地上と同じようにジョッキやグラスでビールを飲む際に必要になる機能を想定して形状を検討し、ストロー状のものを詰めたジョッキと、受け口が狭まっているグラスの2種類を制作しました。

どちらも、無重力状態で支配的になる表面張力や毛細管現象などを利用した形状になっており、無重力状態でビールを飲むことができることを検証するためのものです。

今後、無重力飛行機を使った検証実験などを行いつつ、この宇宙ビール用ジョッキとグラスを使用して、実際に宇宙で「宇宙ビール」を飲むための技術開発を進めていきます。

また、ビールだけでなく、今後さまざまな食べ物や飲み物についても宇宙で飲食できるようにする技術を開発するとともに、宇宙ブランド化を進め、実際に宇宙旅行者に提供できるようにしてまいります。
