桜の季節が過ぎ、次に野山を美しく彩る花と言えばつつじです。古くから栽培されるつつじは、日本人に親しまれている花のひとつとも言えます。
赤、白、ピンクと鮮やかに咲き乱れる晩春の風物詩。そんなつつじの花を愛でに行ってみませんか？
今回は、“つつじの名所”としても有名な公園などを10選、ご紹介いたします！ゴールデンウイークのおでかけにぜひ、いかがですか？

岩手県室根山

岩手県の室根山一帯には、約20万本の山ツツジや蓮華つつじが咲き、5月下旬から6月上旬にかけて美しい景色を楽しめます。山頂からは太平洋を一望でき、つつじが咲く期間中は様々なイベントも開催されます。

長野県鶴峰公園

つつじの名所として知られる鶴峰公園では、約30種3万株のつつじが山を覆っています。5月の中旬頃が見頃で、赤・白・ピンク・紫と華やかに咲き誇ります。毎年、見頃の時期にはつつじ祭りが開催され、園内が賑わいます。

東京都平成つつじ公園

区の花でもあるつつじが、約650品種16000株も植えられています。久留米つつじを中心に平戸つつじや霧島つつじ、五月つつじ野生種などバラエティー溢れる品種が楽しめます。

4月中旬から5月上旬が見頃で、毎年見頃に合わせて“練馬つつじフェスタ”が開催されます。

東京都文京区の根津神社境内のつつじ苑では、4月中旬から5月GW頃にかけて、約100種類3000株のつつじが咲き誇ります。見頃に合わせて“文京つつじまつり”が開催され毎年多くの人でにぎわいます。

静岡県小室山公園

35000㎡の広大な敷地に、約40種10万本のつつじが咲き乱れます。見頃は4月中旬から5月上旬、毎年4月29日から5月5日までつつじ祭りが開催されます。また期間中は、夜つつじの観賞会開催され、昼とは違った幻想的な雰囲気を楽しむこともできます。

京都府三室戸寺

三室戸寺は宇治の花寺と呼ばれるほど、大庭園には四季を通して美しい花が咲いています。4月下旬から5月上旬にかけては、約2万株とつつじと1万株のしゃくなげが咲き誇ります。

見頃には、つつじ・しゃくなげ園を開催され、平戸つつじや久留米つつじ、霧島つつじなどが楽しめます。 (つつじ・しゃくなげ園開園 2018年4月21日～5月13日)

「一目百万本」と言われる葛城山のつつじ。山頂付近の葛城高原はつつじが群生し、5月中旬の見頃には、まるで赤いじゅうたんを敷き詰めたように、真っ赤に染まります。

山頂から見渡す360度のダイナミックな眺望もすばらしく、つつじと一緒に美しい景観を楽しめます。

愛媛県冨士山公園

愛媛県の冨士山公園では、毎年4月下旬から5月にかけて6万3000本のつつじが見事に咲き、山頂をピンク色に染めます。展望台からは大洲盆地と肱川を眼下に見下ろす絶景が楽しめます。

見頃にはつつじ祭りが開催され、毎年家族連れなどでにぎわいますよ！ (2018年4月25日～5月15日)

佐賀県御船山楽園

花の名所としても知られる御船山楽園は、4月中旬から5月上旬にかけて約20万本の久留米つつじや霧島つつじが花開きます。

花まつり開催中は、夜の“つつじ・大藤・春もみじのライトアップ”があり、美しく幻想的な景色を楽しめます。 (ライトアップ期間2018年5月15日～5月7日 18：30～22：00)
