抹茶アイスにチョコブラウニーを合わせた「抹茶＆ブラウニー」。チョコ味の焼菓子が入ったアイスというと、筆者も好きなハーゲンダッツ人気フレーバー「クッキー＆クリーム」を思い出します。

「クッキー＆クリーム」のしっとりクッキーと比べると、こちらのブラウニーはしっかりキューブ型が残る固め。甘さがかなりひかえめなかわりにカカオの風味が驚くほど濃厚です。ブラウニーの量は少なめな印象を受けましたが、代わりに味が濃く、一口噛むとたちまちアイスの味わいが一変します。チョコレートの深い味わいが広がり、クリームたっぷりのなめらかな抹茶アイスと優しく溶け合います。

小粒ながら存在感たっぷりのチョコブラウニーと濃厚抹茶アイスは、どちらもほんのりした苦みと豊かな香りが特徴のフレーバー。共通点の多いチョコと抹茶は相性がよく、おたがいの風味を高め合ってくれる印象です。

チョコと抹茶、和と洋を代表するスイーツの相性のよさを再確認できるフレーバーでした。
