Discordがアメリカの10代中心に「褒め」で人気を集めるSNS「Gas（ガス）」を買収

1月17日、チャットサービスのDiscordがアメリカの10代中心に「褒め」で人気を集めるSNS「Gas（ガス）」を買収したことを発表しました。買収金額などの詳細は明らかにされていません。

Discordのジェイソン・シトロンCEOと、Gas創業者のニキータ・ビアーさんも揃って買収の件をツイートしています。

定期的に更新される「（友達についての）アンケート」に回答すると、該当した友達に匿名で賛辞を意味する「Flames（炎）」を送ることができるのがGas最大の特徴です。

Instagramでは「映え」ですが、Gasでは「褒め」がユーザーを惹きつける要因となっています。

アンケートは「将来お金持ちになりそうな人は？」「顔が広い人は誰？」「笑顔が素敵な人は？」といったポジティブな内容になっています。

ユーザーは選択肢の中から誰か一人を選びます。

選ばれた人には他SNSの「いいね！」に該当する「Flames（炎）」が送られ、誰かに「褒められる」ことでユーザーの自己肯定感が高まる仕掛けになっています。

Gasは買収後も独立アプリとして運営される予定です。
