自称インド人ジャーナリストのツイートした津波映像がフェイクだった件 「騙される人も相変わらず多いね」「Twitterはこのアカウントを凍結すべき」

1月15日にトンガで発生した海底火山の大規模噴火。この噴火の影響で津波も発生しました。

SNSには噴火や津波の様子を捉えた映像が数多く投稿されていますが、ジャーナリストを名乗るインド人ユーザーがTwitterに投稿した津波映像はフェイクだったことが判明しました。

フェイク動画を投稿したのは、「Journalist Siraj Noorani」というTwitterアカウントです。プロフィールには「独立系ジャーナリスト＆フードブロガー」「ムンバイ在住」との記載があります。

オリジナルの映像は昨年12月6日にYouTubeで公開されています。撮影場所はインドネシアのスマトラ島を流れるカンパル川沿いということです。この映像は海嘯と呼ばれる潮津波を撮影したものとなります。

フェイク動画を発信したTwitterアカウントには次のような声が集まっています。

・Twitterはこのアカウントを凍結すべき
・軽々しくジャーナリストを名乗るんじゃない
・溺れないように予めライフジャケット着てるし
・すぐバレるのに
・いつからジャーナリストとフードブロガーを両立してるんだ？
・何か起きると必ずデマを発信するバカが出てくるよな
・フェイクニュースを垂れ流す自称ジャーナリスト
・騙される人も相変わらず多いね
・肩書きがジャーナリストとかウケるんですけど
