iOS 14で追加された音声認識機能（Sound Recognition）がちょっと怖いらしい 「絶対オンにしないな」「不気味すぎるよ」

障がいのある人をサポートする機能としてiPhoneに搭載されているのがアクセシビリティ（Accessibility）と呼ばれる機能です。

6月22日に発表されたiOS 14には、耳に障がいのある人をサポートするための音声認識機能（Sound Recognition）が追加されています。赤ちゃんの泣き声、火災報知器が鳴る音、水が流れる音などを認識すると通知してくれるという機能です。

耳に障がいがなくとも、「例えばヘッドフォンしながらゲームしている時にインターホンが鳴ってもスマホの画面を見れば配達が来たってすぐわかる」といったメリットもあったりします。

ただ、「この機能は2020年のホラー映画の始まりかもしれない」というツイートにあるように、この機能に恐怖を感じている人もいる模様。写真は、投稿主が誰もいないスタジオに一晩iPhoneを置いていった翌日の待ち受け画面。誰もいないはずなのに「水が流れる音を認識しました」という通知だらけになっています。

Redditには、「誰もいない家での初めての音声認識機能」というコメントと共に赤ちゃんの泣き声を認識しましたという通知の写真が投稿されています。

SNS上には以下のような声が集まっています。

・音声認識機能は絶対オンにしないな

・通知メッセージが不気味すぎるよ

・「チェーンソーの音を認識しました」って通知が来たら本気で心配したほうがいい

・この機能を上手く活用すれば、ホラー映画1本撮れるんじゃない!?

・設定でこの機能をオフにしておけば怪奇現象に悩む必要なしってこと

精度という面では、音声認識機能にはまだまだ改善の余地がたくさん残されているようです。
