『ターミネーター:ニュー・フェイト』では、ジェームズ・キャメロン監督の元妻で、サラ・コナー役を演じるリンダ・ハミルトンが『ターミネーター2』以来28年ぶりに出演するということで話題となっています。

今回公開された予告編は、サラ・コナーを前面に押し出しています。
ところがインターネット上では、サラ・コナーの息子であるジョン・コナーの不在を訝しむ人が多いようです。

「ターミネーターの世界観が大好きなファンとしては、予告編に興奮したいところなんだけど、この予告編は私にとっては意味ないな。ジョン・コナーはいないし、他の映画でもよくあるアクションシーンばっかりだ。（面白いかどうかは）今のところ判断できないね」という人もいます。

「『ターミネーター:ニュー・フェイト』の予告編を見たよ。あんま刺さんなかったな。ジョン・コナーは一体どこへいっちゃたんだ？ ジョン・コナーのいないターミネーターの映画って意味あんの？ レジスタンスのリーダーだよ」と、ジョン・コナーが登場しない『ターミネーター:ニュー・フェイト』に違和感を感じる人はかない多いようです。
映画というものはエンターテイメントとはいえビジネスなので、なんらかの理由でジョン・コナーを登場させないという判断になったのでしょうが、成否に関しては映画公開後に明らかになるでしょう。
