VR（バーチャルリアリティ）ソフトウェアの開発を行うDVERSE Inc.は、アメリカ建築家協会（AIA）が開催する建築カンファレンス「AIA Conference on Architecture 2017：Architecture Expo（開催地：アメリカ・オーランド、開催日：2017年4月27日～29日）」に、VRソフトウェア「SYMMETRY alpha（シンメトリーアルファ）」をブース出展すると発表した。

なお、日本からの出展は同社のみとのことだ（※日本企業の海外子会社等を除く・AIAサイト調べ）。

AIA Conference on Architectureについて

AIA Conference on Architectureとは、アメリカ建築家協会（AIA）が開催する、アメリカ国内の建築系企業が一堂に会するカンファレンスだ。

ワークショップやセミナーなどが開催され、2016年には20,868名の参加者が集まったという。

本年はミシェル・オバマ前大統領婦人がキーノートスピーカーとして登場し、アメリカ国内での注目度も高まっているとのことだ。

SYMMETRY alpha（シンメトリーアルファ）について

SYMMETRY alphaは、2017年2月14日（火）よりSteamにて無料配信を開始された、次世代端末として話題のHMD（ヘッド・マウント・ディスプレイ）を使用するVRソフトウェアで、誰もが簡単に3DCADをVR化して、社内やクライアントとのイメージの共有、コミュニケーション、合意形成を円滑にするとのことだ。

フォーマットは米国Trimble社「SketchUp（スケッチアップ）」に対応。

※シンメトリーとは「対称性」を意味し、ユーザーの頭の中に想い描いたイメージ、アイデアをそのままVR空間に投影し生み出すことが出来るモノ、場所として命名された。
