Oculusは、このほどOculus Riftの最小スペック要件として「NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti」を正式に承認した。

同社は、このほどOculus Riftの最小スペック要件として、NVIDIAのエントリーモデルGPU「GTX 1050 Ti」を正式に承認し、同社サポートセンターの最小スペック要件掲載ページに明記した。

本メディアで過去に報じたように、Oculus Riftは昨年開催された開発者カンファレンス「Oculus Connect3」に同VRヘッドセットの最小スペックを引き下げることを発表した。

以上の発表があった直後、NVIDIAはエントリーモデルGPU「GTX 1050」および「GTX 1050 Ti」を発表したのだが、同GPUリリース当社はOculus最小スペック要件を満たしていながらも、Oculusサポートセンターにはその明記がなかった。

なお、更新されたOculus Riftの最小スペック要件は以下の通り。

グラフィックカード	NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti / AMD Radeon RX 470以上
代替可能なグラフィックカード	NVIDIA GTX 960 / AMD Radeon R9 290以上
CPU	Intel i3-6100 / AMD FX4350以上
メモリ	8GB以上のRAM
ビデオ出力	HDMI 1.3互換ビデオ出力
USBポート	USB 3.0ポートx1、USB 2.0ポートx2
OS	Windows 8.1以降

ちなみに、VIVEの最小スペック要件におけるGPUは、「NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 970、AMD Radeon™ R9 290 の同等品またはそれ以上」とされており、1050 Tiでは快適なプレイは望めないようだ。

Oculus Riftはアクセサリーに関してVIVEに大きく差をつけられた感があるが、先月発表された本体の値下げと最小スペック要件の引き下げによって、新規ユーザーを取り込めるかどうか、今後の動向に注目しよう。
