伝統的アミューズメントアトラクション、クラシックゴーストトレインを残すために360°動画を制作する「Dark Ride Project」がクラウドファンディングサイトIndieGoGoでキャンペーン中だ。

Dark Ride Project

クラシックゴーストトレインとは、移動遊園地やカーニバルなどのアミューズメントパークやイベントなどの定番のアトラクションで、現在消えかけている昔ながらのエンターテインメントである。

実際、1930年代頃ではPretzel Ride社が作ったゴーストトレインだけでもアメリカ全土に1700ライド存在したが、現在はそのうち三つほどしか残っていない。

このようなエンターテインメントの調査をしてきたJoel Zika氏がそのクラシックゴーストトレインを後世に残すために始めた360°動画を制作するプロジェクトがDark Ride Projectだ。

今も動いているゴーストトレインを探して、実際に乗っている感覚を楽しめるように、360動画を撮影している。

すでにいくつかのライドが撮影されているが金銭的援助がなかったため、今回Zika氏はクラウドファンディングサイトIndieGogoで目標金額$60,000のキャンペーンを立ち上げた。

Zika氏はDark Ride ProjectのTVシリーズを最終目標としており、プロジェクトのサポーターになると360フィルムにアクセスできる権利がもらえる。
