コマツとカヤックがTangoアプリを試験開発中

コマツ（株式会社小松製作所）の提供するICTソリューション「スマートコンストラクション」プロジェクトの一端として、先端AR技術である「Tango」を用いたスマートフォンアプリのプロトタイプ開発を進めていることを発表した。

このアプリには、下記に紹介するような建設現場での実用化を目指した様々な機能を実験的に取り入れているということだ。

施工中地形に対して完成設計面3Dデータを、位置座標を合わせてリアルタイムにAR合成するということだ。

現況地形と完成地形を比較して、施工進捗を確認できるということである。

Tangoのマーカー機能を用いて、位置座標の補正も行っているという。

2位:17億円の資金調達をしたWaveOptics、新型ARスマートグラスを開発中

英国に拠点を置くAR開発企業であるWaveOpticsが、約1200万ポンド(約17億円)の資金調達を達成した。

同社はAR技術の光学系を開発しており、ウェーブガイドという新技術を用いて高機能で小型のARスマートグラスを開発している。

現在、WaveOpticsの投資段階はシリーズBであり、つまり事業を開始し、技術開発によって製品を生み出すという最初の段階(＝シリーズA)から次のステップへ進み、技術開発のみならず事業を拡大することを目的に含めた活動へと踏み出したということだ。

同社は新技術「ウェーブガイド」を採用したARスマートグラスの開発に取り組んでおり、同社のアナウンスによると、この新技術を採用したことによって、あらゆる形の画像データを、どんな大きさでも、フルカラーで表示することが可能になるという。

3位:3D 360° VR 4K動画で記録するハイスペックビデオカメラ「Vuze」が日本初上陸！

ハイスペックビデオカメラ「Vuze」が日本初上陸

Humaneyes Technologies Ltd. (本社：イスラエル、CEO：Shahar Bin-Nun) はAniwo (本社：イスラエル、CEO：寺田彼日) と共同で、日本初上陸の3D 360° VR 4K動画が撮影できるビデオカメラを先行発売するプロジェクトを、国内最大手クラウドファンディングサービス「Readyfor」にて7月19日(水)より開始することを発表した。

本プロジェクトでは、8月31日(木)23時までに目標金額100万円に到達しなかった場合、全額支援者の方々に返金になり、その場合は支援者の方々へリターンが届かないAll or Nothingの形式をとっているという。

4位:Microsoft、ゲームスタジオとの提携によりMRコンテンツを開発中

Microsoftは現在、AcerやDell、Asusなどのパートナー企業との連携によってMRデバイスの開発を進めており、いくつかは今年中に発売される予定だ。

ハードウェアの登場に伴ってソフトウェアのニーズも高まるが、同社によると現在MRデバイスに対応したコンテンツの制作も行われており、それはMicrosoftとパートナー関係を結ぶゲームスタジオによって行われているとのことだ。

Microsoftは様々なハードウェア企業との提携によって多くのMRヘッドセットを発表しているが、コンテンツ企業とも提携を結んでおり、現在Windows 10対応MRヘッドセット用コンテンツ開発も進められているとのこと。
