神社に詣でると、当益よりも現益があると、良く分かる事例であります。
二礼二拍手一礼が伝統的な作法ではないとか、二礼二拍手一礼じゃなくて二拝二拍手一拝だとか、初詣自体が明治からの風習で鉄道会社の宣伝の賜物だとか、毎年この時期のコネタ記事の種になる初詣でありますが、なぜ神社に人が集まるのかと考えますと、やはりそこに現世利益（現益）があるからではないかと、このような光景を見ると思わざるを得ないのであります。

現益といえば、何はなくともお金でありまして、それが自然と集まってきてしまうスポットといえば賽銭箱であります。しかしお金だけでは人間も生きていけません。適度に日光に当たらなければ、セロトニンも分泌されず体内時計も乱れてしまいます。
健康という現益を補ううららかなお日様の光が、賽銭箱の上に陽だまりを作り、そしてそこには人類の心の安穏には欠かせない猫も自ずとたまって寝そべり毛づくろいをしております。賽銭箱の穴がほどよくフィットした、天道ぼこり中の猫を心より拝めば、今年一年の家内安全商売繁盛除災厄除に縁結びは約束されるに違いありません。
