ダックスのまんぷく

ふわふわの大きなお耳と、豆つぶのようなまろ眉が可愛い女の子です。種類はロングヘアですが実際は短毛で、お手入れラクラク♪ ダックスフンドにしては脚が長いのが自慢です（笑）。

小さな体に信じられないほどのパワーを秘めて、毎日爆走！やんちゃですが甘えん坊の寂しがり屋で、ときに女優顔負けの演技で飼い主を翻弄します。

休み明けに待っていた試練

2017年の年末に赤ちゃんダックスのまんぷくを迎え、一気に騒々しくなった我が家。

楽しかった正月休みはあっという間に終わり、日常が戻ってきました。

買い物に病院、郵便局……。ワンコを連れて行けない場所はたくさんあって、用事で出かけるときは、まんぷくに留守番をしてもらわなければなりません。

「留守番なんて大嫌い！」

まんぷくに慣れてもらうため、まずは10分単位の短い留守番からスタート。でも、これがとてつもなく大変でした。

出かけている間、まんぷくにはゲージの中で留守番してもらうのですが、自分が置いていかれることがわかると、まんぷくは聞いたこともないような声で「置いていくな！」と鳴き叫び、ゲージの中で暴れだします。

まだこの頃は吠えることができなかったのですが、かわりに「コケー！コケー！ウギャァアアア！」と壊れたニワトリのような声をあげ、渾身の力で抗議してくるのです。

何とかなだめて出かけ、帰ってくると……。

ゲージの中はめちゃくちゃに荒らされ、トイレシーツが引き裂いてあります。

寒くないよう、ゲージのまわりを段ボールで囲っていたのですが、それもズタズタに破かれ、そこらじゅうにウンコが投げ飛ばしてあって……。

あまりの惨状に卒倒しそうになりました。

そして、ものすごい顔でニラんでくるまんぷく。

初めての試練に四苦八苦する

犬が落ち着いて留守番できるという音楽を流してみたり、おいしいオヤツを用意してみたり、色々やってみるものの、まんぷくはますます留守番が嫌いになっていくようでした。

嫌いすぎて、ゲージから脱出してしまうことも。

今思うと本当に勉強不足の準備不足。あまりにのんきだったと大反省です。

勝ち気な性格で、我々を従えて王様のようにふるまうまんぷくですが、やっぱりまだ赤ちゃんなのだと痛感。短い時間であっても、いきなりひとりぼっちにされたらパニックになるのも当然なのでした。

浮かれまくっていた正月休みから数週間。ようやく「犬育ては甘くない！」と実感し、色々勉強することにしました。
